Numerical and experimental studies of the generation of ultrasound by laser

چکیده

We present an analytical l-D model of the laser generation of ultrasound that takes the optical penetration effect and the time profile of the laser pulse into account. This model leads to simple expressions for the time position and width of the precursor. The results of this model are compared to experimental data. We also present numerical and experimental directivity patterns of samples having various optical penetration depths.
